Security Councils of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan coordinated their positions

Today, on October 25, in Almaty, extended scheduled consultations between the apparatuses of the security councils of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan took place.


During the negotiations, which were chaired by the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Secretary of the Security Council Kalmukhanbet Kassymov and Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov, relevant issues of cooperation between the two countries were discussed with the participation of heads of central government bodies.

The parties exchanged views on the state of regional and global security, current risks in Central Asia, and cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

The issues of cooperation in the field of environmental safety were discussed in detail.

Aspects of cooperation in the use and protection of transboundary rivers were examined, since this issue is of particular importance for the population and economy of both countries.

In addition,issues of cooperation in the military and military-technical sphere were also in the agenda.

As a result of the meeting, a Cooperation Plan was agreed on between the apparatuses of the security councils of the two countries for the years 2020-2021, specific instructions were given to the relevant state bodies of the two countries.
